After the initial loss of a batsman Paranavitana Sri Lanka have gone to strengthen their batting without losing any further wickets. They are playing at 65 runs after losing a wicket. Sangakkara is playing at 27 while Tilakratne Dilshan is playing at 28.
Sangakkara has a habit of beginning slowly and then scoring rus fast. Sri lankan captain had scored a double century 213 runs in the second test match.
He is the driving force when it comes to batting and the Sri lankan batting looks secure in the hands of Sangakkara and Jayawarden, his predecessor, both of whom are two of the greatest batsmen in the world right now.
Sangakkara who has played 90 test matches has scored close to 8000 runs with twenty three hundreds and more than thirty half centuries.
His ODI record is equally impressive. He has scored more than 8300 runs and ten hundreds and 57 half centuries.
Indian bowler Ishant Sharma who hasn’t had a good run this year came out strongly in the very beginning of the game and scalped Paranavitana’s important wicket.
Sri Lanka must be hoping to score a huge total and recreate what they were able to do in the first match when they convincingly beat India by ten wickets.
