NEW YORK: Mohammad Asif’s ex-girlfriend Veena Malik has accused him of being directly involved in match-fixing, claiming that the pace bowler has been doing it for some time now.
Veena volunteered to participate in Front Line Talk show today to disclose what she knew about match-fixing.
Appearing as a panelist on the Talk Show with Kamran Shahid on Express News, Veena accused Asif of being ‘criminal minded’ and a ‘serial match-fixer.’
Model Veena and cricketer Asif fell out when the latter decided to dump her for another girl and demanded he return all the monies she loaned to him. Now, Veena says she has no more differences with Asif. All matters have been resolved, she added.
Here’s what Veena had to say on Asif:
-Asif reportedly told her that Pakistan will not win a series until 2010
-She has accused Asif of bribing an Indian doctor during his doping trial at the Indian Premier League
-He is supposed to have told Mohammad Amir “I have had more court cases than your age (18)”
-He reportedly told Veena Malik: “Stop praying….we will not win a single match during the tour to Australia.”
She also informed that Asif had told the actress that spot fixing will help in earning a very good amount without the results of the matches getting affected and also that Pakistan would not be winning any Test series until this year that is 2010.
Malik also revealed that Asif even paid bribes so as to get through the longer suspension after the dope test results came positive while at the Indian Premier League (IPL) two years back.
