n Kerala, around 150 children supported by the NGO created the largest flowery carpet called pookalam for Onam which entered the Limca Book of Records.

The Pookalam is said to be 14,400 square foot and it took three hours time to be completed. It is reported that 12.5 tonnes of flowers were required to create it in Thrissur’s Lulu Convention Centre.

The New Delhi-based NGO called Goonj and 40 Whirlpool employees helped the children .A top official of Whirlpool, Shantanu Das Gupta said that the Limca Book of World Records’ officials were happy to see the children’s performance.
