Black ribbon | Black ribbon Meaning: The black ribbon, like similar awareness ribbons, is worn or displayed as a political statement.
The tape has been used in a variety of ways:
* In Poland, a black ribbon of mourning will be worn by the tragic death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and 95 other senior officials on 10/04/2010 significant.
* In Argentina, a black ribbon, sometimes with the national colors in both ends, is used to raise awareness for victims of terrorism subversive.
* In the United Kingdom after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997
* Until the resignation of General Musharraf as army chief, few Pakistanis around the world wore black ribbons and it appears as an identity card on the Internet to protest against what they consider martial law imposed by President Musharraf in Pakistan November 3, 2007. In Karachi, a group known as SOS-subversive operations department of the city walls painted with the symbol as a sign of resistance against martial law and its crackdown resulting in politicians and the country's intelligentsia, most of which were later found to be corrupt and anti state.

* The black ribbon has again made its appearance shortly after a category 4 hurricane Katrina landed on the Gulf of Mexico, in September 2005. New Orleans has been destroyed and many cities of the Mississippi Gulf Coast deleted.
