Joby John, the singer from Chattankottu Nada, Kozhikode District won the prestigious Asianet Idea Star Singer Season-4 by procuring a record of 5,22,272 SMS votes from Malayali's across the world! He got 85 points from the judging panel comprising of legendary singer S.P.Balasubraniam, Sarath (Music director), K.S.Chitra and M.G.Sreekumar (Singers).

In the grand Finale held at the Chandrashekaran Nair Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, there were 5 contestants. The contestants who tried their level best and luck during the final are, Anju Joseph, Joby John, Preethi Ravindran Warrier, S Vidhyashankar and Sreenath K. Anju Joseph and Vidya Sankar were eliminated based on SMS votes. Sreenath is selected as the First Runner Up idea star singer season 4. Sreenath got 1,27,811 votes and 81 points. The second runner up Preethi got 38,203 sms.
